The Xiaomi Redmi 2’s processor is faster than the Redmi 1’s CPU with support for 64-bit computing. The smartphone is backed by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, aided by an Adreno 306 GPU and 1GB of RAM. The Redmi 1s on the other hand utlises a 32-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 CPU, coupled with an Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM. For storage needs, both the phones are equipped with 8GB of expandable flash storage.

Software features

The Xiaomi Redmi 1s runs the dated Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with MIUI v5 on top. While its successor’s biggest standout feature is MIUI v6 OS that runs on top of Android 4.4 KitKat.
